There are infinitely fascinating places that you can visit in India, right from the attractive scenic destination to culturally soaked lands and from chaotic cities to the silent mountains. All you need is a couple of days break, a good plan and then leave to some charming destination. But due to this lockdown, everything has changed. From the last four-month we have been trapped inside the four walls which now seems to be a stressful thing to deal.
During these dark days, things have started to change slowly and steadily. At some of the tourist spots, the government has decided to uplift the ban and are welcoming the tourist. But there are some protocols that one has to follow like mandatory COVID-19 test, minimum pre-booking and so on.
List of States Open for Tourism
Himachal Pradesh:
The first state to make our list is Himachal Pradesh. A popular tourist destination in the northern state of the country that offers snow-clad mountains, trekking, paragliding and of-course cannabis.
The state government has decided to uplift the ban from tourism and now the state is once again welcoming the visitors. Though to make into the state, few guidelines have to be followed. As per the government, the tourist coming from another state will be monitored and will be asked to follow all the guidelines strictly.
Uttrakhand
Another countries jewel in the crown is the northern state of India, Uttrakhand which is also known as the "Dev Bhoomi - Land of Gods". The hilly region of the state offers a picturesque beauty to soothe your mind and soul. One thing that I really find amusing about the place is the story that you hear from the locals. Well, get ready to hear again all those interesting mythological stories as the Uttrakhand government have decided to allow the tourist to enter the state.
What's interesting to see was that once the news of uplifting was vocal people started to book their e-pass for Chardham yatra. On the first day itself, 422 pilgrims applied for the e-pass to visit the Himalayan temples of Badrinath, Kedarnath, Gangotri and Yamunotri.
Goa
This place doesn't need any introduction "bas naam hi kaafi hai". I think Goa is the only place in India for which the plans are made to be cancelled (just kidding). Tourism is the backbone of Goa's economy. While uplifting the ban Chief Minister of Goa Mr. Pramod Sawant tweeted "Tourism is one of the biggest industries in the state and is the backbone of our economy. In this unlock phase, we are kickstarting our economy again by keeping the highest health safety norms in place in view of #COVID19".
So, now you can enjoy the beaches, booze and some amazing seafood. Close to 250 hotels have been allowed re-open in order to bring back the tourism as well as the economy.
Madhya Pradesh
Madhya Pradesh is the largest state in the heart of our country. It is one of the other states in our list that has opened its door for tourism. Even the forest department has issued the circular to re-open the national parks which I personally feel is the highlighting point as the state is the paradise for wildlife enthusiasts. Madhya Pradesh is home to 11 national parks and 24 wildlife sanctuaries.
Guidelines to Follow While Travelling During Lockdown
Accommodation needs to pre-booked and only domestic tourists will be allowed to enter the state.
A minimum of five days booking has to be done which is mandatory.
It is mandatory to carry a COVID-19 negative certificate not older than 72 hours and that also has to be furnished from an ICMR recognised lab. For Goa, the report has to be not more than 48 hours old.
